Adeste's BB , Iphone + Nexus Android- Tip #167- April 18th

Tip # 167- April 18th

Change what happens when you type on the Home screen for the BB
Before you begin: Depending on your typing input language, you might not be able to use shortcut keys to open applications.
  1. On the Home screen, press the key > Options.
    • To search your BlackBerry® smartphone or the Internet when you type on the Home screen, change the Launch by Typing field to Universal Search.
    • To open applications when you press shortcut keys, change the Launch by Typing field to Application Shortcuts.
  2. Press the key > Save.

Reclaim the comma on the Samsung Nexus ( Android)
One of the first irritations you'll encounter with the Google Nexus S is the lack of a comma - the keyboard has a voice search icon where the oft-used symbol should be.
But there's a way to reclaim it - head into Settings, and choose Language and Keyboard. Tap Android Keyboard and in there you'll see a dropdown menu labeled Voice input.
From here you can select whether the voice search icon is on the front screen, the symbol menu or delete it altogether - and more importantly, the comma is back where it belongs.

Multitasking: update your apps for your Iphone
Multitasking is one of the big new features of iOS4, but while all Apple's apps (like Calculator and iPod) are compatible, all third party apps will need to be upgraded to properly multitask. So, you'll need to head to the App Store app on your phone, then visit the Updates section to download a update for each app. This can take a while, but don't forget, the App Store app also multitasks (as it always has), so double tap the Home button to get back to it to save time after selecting each update. There's also a handy "Update all" button to tap.
